Almost
all of the world manufactures one generic type of switch using porcelain
insulators, also known as the "rocking isolator". This design is inherently
ineffective, both in terms of mechanical linkages and exposure of the insulator
to breakage and vandalism. The LINEGEAR 2000 products are highly efficient and
use polymeric/silicone insulators which are virtually indestructible.
switches are a new design
concept. The switches are low in mass and delivered quality checked as factory
built assemblies ready for immediate use. Installation is extremely simple and
labour costs are very low. Switch operation is by means of a hook stick and
features a spring closing mechanism. The whole range is modular and therefore
both manufacturer and user benefit from many interchangeable parts.
